EDTA Buffer Powder (ethylene-diamine-tetraacetic acid) is a chelating agent widely used in molecular biology to sequester divalent andtrivalent metal ions such as calcium and magnesium. It can, for example, be added to stored blood as an anti-coagulant to bind Ca2+ ions.
